Oil and Gas Professionals Gather for the Premiere of the “Fashion Meets Technology” MIXER in Houston for the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC)

The city of Houston hosted thousands of oil and gas professionals from around the world for the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) at NRG Center on Tuesday, May 2nd, 2022. Midas Luxury Concepts premiered the Fashion meets Technology OTC mixer, sponsored by National Oilwell Varco (NOV) and Post Oak Motors at Saks Fifth Avenue- Galleria.

The invitation-only event was organized by Dr. Babajide Agunbiade, National Oilwell Varco’s Executive director and VP for business development for Africa, and his wife, Mrs. Olufunke Agunbiade, CEO of Midas Luxury Concepts. The event served as a welcome party for 150 elite individuals, including National Oil companies and Oil services companies such as Alpha Energy Resources, Hurlag Technologies Limited, Ariosh Limited., and Future Oilfield Services Limited. Guests entered the event with a procession of luxury Rolls-Royce vehicles that were used at the event's entrance for display. Attendees were greeted with a glass of champagne as they entered the private area in the Saks men’s department, where an ariel dancer performed with DJ’s music. Guests also enjoyed cocktails from our cognac sponsor, Bisquit and Bobouche VSOP, and passed hors d’oeuvres catered by 51fifteen Restaurant. As attendees enjoyed sounds by DJ Kenny, they mixed and mingled with industry leaders, investors, buyers, and entrepreneurs as they shopped and exchanged ideas to develop markets and future partnerships.

The organizer, Babajide Agunbiade, Ph.D., FNSE, is a global Oil & Gas expert, Engineer, astute businessman, investor, and philanthropist who is one of only 13 subject matter experts globally in subsea production systems. He is currently a Director at National Oilwell Varco, based in Houston, Texas. This American conglomerate is the largest worldwide provider of equipment and components used in Oil and Gas drilling and production operations. In that role, he has been involved at a significant level in virtually all the shallow and deepwater projects in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Gulf of Mexico. He has completed over 2 billion USD offshore production projects over the last decade alone.

This event was the launch of many more to come as a bigger and better celebration is already in its planning stages for next year’s OTC week!
